About me

Hi, I'm Elodie,

I was born and raised in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland (Ticino). I have Swiss and Angolan roots and am the recipe developer, food photographer and author of Bontà Magazine.

I have always had a natural attraction to cooking since I was very little. I can safely say that I have always been a foodie.

In 2020, I became a vegan. This change happened quite naturally and brought me even closer to my passion for cooking.

Through @luvvelovesfood, my passion for cooking came alive and set me on the journey of plant based food, and the joy of sharing hearty, tasty and delicious vegan recipes with family, friends and all of you.

How vegan cooking changed shaped how I view the world and my approach to life

In addition to my passion for cooking, plant-based nutrition has led me to reflect on different aspects of my life. I have grappled with big and difficult issues such as anti-specism, animal rights, or climate change.

In 2024, I obtained a Master's degree in Gender Studies with a thesis that dealt with the topic of meat commercials in Switzerland and how they can promote gender stereotypes (or roles). Through my undergraduate journey, I was able to explore and understand how the food that ends up on our tables is not just a nutritional medium, but a real political, social and cultural factor. Our plate is our daily parliament!
